A new H100 Fife Community Fund launches to support local community projects
A dedicated new funding initiative has launched to support local community organisations that are driving improvements across the areas local to the H100 Fife project.
SGN H100 Fife has partnered with Coalfields Regeneration Trust to deliver the first H100 Fife Community Fund.
The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is a UK registered charity and social enterprise dedicated to supporting and rebuilding former coal mining communities.
Established in 1999, the trust was created to respond to the severe, long-term economic and social damage left behind by the mass pit closure programmes of the 1980s and 1990s.
It operates across the historic coalfield regions of England, Scotland, and Wales, focusing its resources heavily on areas that fall within the 30% most deprived communities in Britain.
Local groups can now apply for financial support to help bring their initiatives to life. Grants of £150-£250 are available to eligible constituted and non-constituted community groups operating in Levenmouth, with priority given to groups delivering benefits within the areas of Buckhaven, Denbeath, Methil, Methilhill, and Leven.
To qualify for support, proposed initiatives must demonstrate the ability to deliver tangible, lasting benefits directly to the local area. The fund is specifically tailored to address core community needs across four key pillars:
- Education: Encouraging learning opportunities and local skill development.
- Welfare: Supporting poverty, essential needs, health and well-being.
- Environment: Improving, protecting, or beautifying local green spaces.
- Social Inclusion: Reducing isolation and strengthening community connections.
