Career opportunities close to home
Local lad turned apprentice, Lewis Rosie, isn't just learning a trade – he’s part of SGN’s next generation of skilled engineers.
For Lewis Rosie, H100 Fife isn’t just a pioneering UK-first project; it’s the foundation of his career.
As an Apprentice First Call Operative (FCO), Lewis is training to be at the heart of our operations. FCOs are the “emergency responders” of the gas world. The highly-skilled technicians first on the scene to investigate reports, fix faults, and keep the network running safely 24/7.
The H100 Fife project made a commitment to ensure the local community felt the benefits of the green revolution through jobs and opportunities, not just gas. Lewis is part of that promise. Instead of having to travel far for high-quality skills for his future, he’s gaining hands-on experience with the latest FCO tools and kit in his own backyard at Fife College.
“This apprenticeship has changed everything,” Lewis says. “Working on a project as big as H100 Fife as a local person makes you feel like you’re part of something historic.”
With our project hoping to recruit another new apprentice from the area, Lewis is just the beginning of a long-term legacy.
