East Fife Community Football Club Camps kick off for a third year

Holiday multi-sport camps at East Fife Community Football Club have officially kicked off last week, with support from the team at SGN’s H100 Fife project and a familiar face.

James “Jazz” Temperley, a former professional footballer and now H100 Fife Commissioning Manager, returned to his roots on the pitch last week to take part in the 2025 programme. The camps, held at The MGM Timber Bayview Stadium – home of East Fife FC – are running throughout the Easter, Summer and October school holidays.

The events are designed to be accessible to all families in the Levenmouth community, regardless of their circumstances. They are running for six hours every day of the holidays and are priced at £3 per day or £10 per week with free spaces available for those that need them.

Jazz, who represented Scotland and played for Aston Villa and Hibs in his youth before switching to professional football in Australia, was joined by members of the H100 Fife team at the stadium for a day of inspirational fun.

The children enjoyed games and training led by Jazz and were eager to hear stories from his professional football days. Jazz also shared insights into his role at SGN and the H100 Fife project. Many of the children excitedly mentioned that their parents or grandparents work for SGN too.

Jazz said:
“It’s been brilliant to get out on the pitch and combine my love for football with my current role at SGN. The camps are such a positive way to give back to the local community and to inspire the next generation, not just in sport, but in thinking about careers in engineering and energy too. I’m proud that we can support these kids both on and off the pitch.”

At SGN, Jazz plays a key role in preparing the network for the delivery of green hydrogen to homes in the Buckhaven and Denbeath areas.

This is the third consecutive year we’ve sponsored the camps, deepening our partnership with East Fife Community FC and continuing to support the community surrounding our world-first green hydrogen project.

Michelle Brand, East Fife Community Football Club Secretary, said:

“Without the continued support from SGN’s H100 Fife project we would not be able to run the multi-sport camps at an affordable price. Feedback from parents has been amazing as they know without the endorsement from SGN, they would not have been able to participate.

“Camps are at full capacity with 100 kids booked in every day. We are reaching kids in the community who would not normally be able to take part and providing a safe fun environment for them to make friends, have fun and be active.

“We are also providing additional free spaces to those who need it and continue to work with Fife Council Kinship team to ensure that families have the opportunity to attend.”
