H100 Fife supports two sizzling summer events in the heart of the community
This summer, H100 Fife was proud to support two vibrant community events that brought families together, celebrated local connections, and showcased the best of what our network area has to offer.
MCCI Summer Open Day
Last weekend the Methilhill Community Children’s Initiative (MCCI) Summer Open Day was a huge highlight of the summer. Held in the centre’s beautiful garden space, the event welcomed families from across the area for a day of free food, fun, and friendship.
H100 Fife was delighted to sponsor the centre’s barbecue, which was all cooked in the brand-new outdoor kitchen officially opened on the day by David Torrance MSP. Alongside the sizzling grill, guests enjoyed homemade soup, teas, coffees, juice and ice cream, all provided free of charge.
Children (and quite a few adults!) were enchanted by a visit from Alba Therapy Ponies, Orio and Haggis, who were also funded by SGN. Grooming and petting these gentle animals proved to be a magical experience for many.
Nichola Alexander, Project Manager at MCCI, said: “Saturday was absolutely fantastic—everyone who came along had a brilliant time. We wanted to create a free event that all families could enjoy without worrying about cost. In our area, many families are large, and days out aren’t always affordable, so this was our way of giving back to the community that supports us.
“Thanks to SGN’s funding, we were able to offer a free BBQ, refreshments, and even a visit from therapy ponies. It was a joyful day for our board, staff, volunteers, and most importantly, our community.”
Fisher Lad & Lass Gala Day
At the Start of August, the H100 Fife customer team joined the celebrations at the Fisher Lad & Lass Gala Day, organised by Buckhaven and Denbeath Community Council. As proud sponsors of the event, we were thrilled to meet families and customers right in the heart of our network area.
We brought along a fantastic local face painter who transformed little faces into colourful creations, much to the delight of parents and children alike. With plenty of giveaways and cheerful conversation, it was a wonderful way to connect with the community and celebrate local pride.
Stakeholder & Community Manager Sarah Ballantyne said: “At H100 Fife, we believe in more than just delivering innovative energy solutions – we are committed to supporting local initiatives and helping build a brighter future for the communities we serve.
“Thank you to everyone who made these events so special. We’re already looking forward to the next one.”
